Coop Bustin' a Move!

So - our babysitter Katie caught this on her phone while the boys were dancing to some Halloween music. The masks were a little project she whipped up, but the dance moves are all from James' family. Everyone knows that the Bubbs use a lot more hip action! Happy October!

Amazing Fall Weather!

My Awesome Nephew, Charlie, Turned 1!
My brother, Steve, forgot to shave that day! =)

Charlie on his birthday sporting the bruise from falling down the stairs. I think it makes him look tough.

The boys and I have enjoyed a lot of time outside playing in shorts & t-shirts. It is crazy that this is October, but we will take it while we can!

Family Wedding Photo - Leslie & Dave's Wedding

This photo was taken in late August, but they were just received by James' cousin, Leslie, from her amazing wedding! It was the perfect day for them to get married outside, and the wedding was really beautiful. Lots of fun watching them get married...they are a cute couple!

Our kids stayed clean for approx. 5 minutes, so this is the ONLY photo I have seen where they don't look like they just got back from an outdoor football game. Miles managed to find the one wet area on the golf course to sit down on...leaving him looking like he soiled himself all night. We are so proud!

Cooper Turned 5 - with a trip to Disney World!

What better way to spend your 5th birthday than at the 'Funnest Place on Earth!'. Grandma and Grandpa Bubb took us to Disney World for a week and we had a BLAST! It was super hot, so the boys were able to sport muscle shirts for days, but it was fun and they had a great time. We stayed at Animal Kingdom, and were able to have breakfast with zebras & giraffes merely feet away from our suite. It was great, and now we are thankfully back to cooler fall weather! A big thanks to my parents for helping with the boys during the week, and taking us on such a memorable trip!

Firsts...

James' mini-me. Crazy how much they look alike!

The boys have had a lot of 'firsts' the last few weeks. Cooper rode the bus for the first time. He is in Speech Therapy (Speech Buddies) through Edina Public School, and he got to ride the bus this year. It is a short class, but he loves the bus and thinks that he is the coolest.

They also had there first trip to the dentist...awake! They have had their teeth cleaned before, but they were under (for other reasons) and so this was their first time knowing they were there! They did okay, but Miles cried almost the whole time they were cleaning his teeth. I rewarded them with ice cream, so that was counter-productive.

Fall = Sports!

Cooper just finished his second session of t-ball, which he played with his friend Drew. It was fun to watch them get better throughout their 'season'. Now we are doing karate and indoor soccer. He already dislikes karate because 'there isn't a ball, and not a lot of running.' We'll see how it goes. Swimming should be added into the mix, but I don't know when that would happen!

Easter Weekend!

Easter weekend was so busy - and fun! Cooper went to his first Twins game with James - as you can tell, it was a cold one! They made if 4 whole innings, and when he came back all he could talk about was the food they had.:) Then we did a lot of football in the yard, dinner with friends, went to Hop with both boys (it was Miles' first time going to a movie theater - long story, he needs more time to mature before we do that again!) Easter was fun! I love the excitement of the boys when they know what day it is when they run out of their rooms bright and early. Miles was the first up - and started right away with 'It's Easter time'. We were out in the yard getting our eggs at 6:15, and even though our neighbors might have been annoyed, they had a great morning! Brunch with family and then a day of relaxing and fun family stuff.

The boys are at awesome ages. I hope they are like this for a while! Hope everyone else had a great Easter!

Crazy Cold Weekend!

It was another weekend in temps below 35 degrees at times, and although we woke up to snow on our cars Saturday, we decided to head to the Twin Cities home show with my parents. They bought a sweet new house on Prior Lake, and are planning on putting in an outdoor kitchen, pizza oven and patio this spring/summer so they were scouting out some places. Anyway, the boys' favorite part was meeting and following around the Michelin man, which they acted like was no big deal - but they followed him for like 20 minutes. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!! ~

$1.50 of fun!

I thought of a few things that the boys and I could do outside that would be fun, and more creative than just hitting each other with balls while we run around the yard (which is actually really fun!), and I decided that bringing our waterproof table outside and coating it and the boys' hands with the cheapest shaving cream Target had. They LOVED it, and it was a 20minute break from our swinging and running, which gave me time to relax for a few minutes and start the next activity. An added bonus...drop a few drips of finger paint and turn it different colors. They thought that was awesome too! Any other ideas are greatly appreciated!! It is only April, but thank God for the great weather!!

Friday - Funday

I would like to know why it seems like I am ALWAYS doing a mountain of laundry and my kids still smell like pee. I do so much laundry I can't even tell you how many loads a week - they never wear the same PJs twice, they never wear jeans twice or sweatshirts. They take a bath every night. They get a little wet from being outside, and I put them in a different outfit, they wear something for a few hours and I will throw it in the hamper, and yet....pee smell. Maybe it's them. They are both potty trained, so they aren't sitting in pee, and yet I can tell if they have worn something because there is a faint pee smell on the article of clothing. Ahh!! Don't even get me started on James' running clothes. Gross. Straight up nasty. What is their diet that they smell that bad as humans. I am the only girl in a house of pee smell and dry fit stank. Barf.

FULL Family Weekend!

My cousin Brian and his wife, Kelly, and two sons, Tyler and Conner, came to town from Raleigh this weekend. Tyler is 7 and has Spina bifida, so he plays sled hockey. I didn't know what to expect, but it was really kinda hard core! It was a youth tournament, so I thought it would be less aggressive, but they still slammed into the boards, slid all over, and the play was pretty fast. Anyway, that was fun to watch, and his team ended the tournament in 2nd place!

There were 6 kids running around for 4 straight days, and my boys thought the new cousins were the best thing ever, so we had to seek them out from sun up to sundown! They played hard, napped well, and slept well each night! Fun times watching them pal around with kids they have never met and acting like they were separated at birth! Anyway, hopefully the Jacoby family will come a lot more often, and we can make it to North Carolina to see them sometime soon!
After the Jacoby family headed to the airport, we ran around preparing for our week ahead, and ran some errands and enjoyed the nice(r) weather. We even got a chance to grill out this weekend, so we are so close to my favorite time of year!!

Spring...we need you!

Another weekend with James traveling and gross weather outside....what to do? Body paint! Right now the boys are totally into superheroes, so when I bought some body paint at Wal-Mart, the first thing they wanted was Spiderman faces. Don't try this at home, unless you are going straight into the tub...red faces for too long kind of stain the skin orange....they didn't care.

We are finally decorating our house!

A lot of people LOVE decorating and just have an eye for that kind of thing. I am not that person, and James is certainly not! In fact, if he closed his eyes, I don't think he could tell you what color our interior is. After 8 1/2 years, I have decided to do what I should have done 4 houses ago, and hire help! I called a woman, who came this morning. She is going to hook us up! I will start posting photos as rooms come together and start looking nice. It will be so refreshing to see walls that are filled with artwork, and stuff that isn't all shades of brown!

Here is the first thing we did - we had a painter come and 'treat' our gross fireplace with some stain/paint combo. It is going to make it look better until it is totally ripped out and a floor to ceiling fireplace is added (in like 3 years.). Thoughts? I didn't know how ugly it was until this photo. Yikes!
